Federal appeals from any Michigan federal court have to be taken to the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Cincinnati. Ms. Gabbara is admitted to practice in the Sixth Circuit.
Federal appeals have different rules than state appeals. The time to take an appeal from a criminal conviction is very short – fourteen days from the entry of your judgment of conviction. All filing is electronic, and filing requires that you be qualified as an electronic filer in the Sixth Circuit.
